Respected and Dear viewers and listeners,

First of all, I am grateful to Darul Irfan Research Institute for giving me an opportunity to participate and put my opinion in this international conference on an important topic. I am also grateful to Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif’s Sajjadah Nasheen, Hazrat Syed Emdadul Hoque and his active and ardent successor Mr. Syed Irfanul Hoque for organizing such a programme on this very significant and useful topic.

Man was made the caliph of Allah in the world and on the same day it was definite that the salvation of this world lies in humanity. Each and every attempt which harms or hurts humanity is an evil. No matter if it is a religion or a cult, worship or austerity, only if the result is pro-humanity then it is the path of truth. The enemy of humanity (Satan) succeeds in his hidden and disguised attacks more than direct and obvious ones, and that is why he uses religion, cult, worship and austerity as weapons and tools of evil. Thus hatred, prejudice, murder, oppression, atrocity, brutality and cruelty, as far as these wicked acts have been concerned, are mostly being done in the name of the said tools.

Therefore, Sufism which is the Pioneer, Patron and Protector of humanity, prescribes the purification of the self, purification of thoughts and the purification of the path and sect and raises a question that, when Allah has made the shining sun, the flowing river and the humble earth, He (God) made no difference between those who believe and those who do not believe while getting its benefits and effects. Obviously the true believer of Allah is one who is beneficial and helpful to everyone.

It is very easy to hate those who do not worship like us, but it is difficult to worship and to feed the persons of another faith, to worship and provide clothes to disbelievers, and to give equal rights to them; and it is difficult because it is an attribute of Allah. I firmly believe that today’s webinar will surely be successful in its mission of shocking humans, awakening humankind and nurturing humanity.

Among the Sufis, scholarship is not recognized but the great service is appreciated. This is not because the Sufis are not interested in knowledge, but because the Sufis believe that the greatest and real benefit of knowledge lies in service to humankind. And one who is engaged in the service to humanity is the real scholar, the greatest scholar and his rank is not a Maulvi, Alim or Allama but Deewan, Makhdoom, Khwaja, Qutub and Ghaus.

Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif of Bangladesh is the court (Darbar) of Ghaus-e-Zamana and it is that Darbar which has always been dedicated to service and humanity, and even today the distressed, destitute and needy take refuge and shelter here. The mission started by Hazrat Makhdoom Munim Pak (R.A.) in Patna, the capital of Bihar, India, reached its climax in the form of Maizbhandar on the land of Bangladesh.

I pray with the core of my heart that this webinar and its deliberations and conversations will help to make humanity strong and active in the world, and Darul Irfan Research Institute will find success in its goal.

Syed Shah Shamimuddin (Munemi), PhD is Sajjadah Nasheen of Khangah Munemia, Mitan Ghat Dargah, Patna, India. He is also Head of the Department of Arabic at the Oriental College (Patliputra University), Patna City, Patna, India.

He is the author of many books including:
